Hamburger
Serves 4 | Prep Time: 5 minutes | Total time: 15 minutes
Note: Ground beef can contain e-coli, which can be deadly. Always cook to 160 degrees and carefully wash hands and surfaces after touching meat.
Ingredients
1 lb. ground chuck for small (1/4 pound) burgers
1 tsp Monterey Steak Seasoning (optional)
4 buns
Condiments of choice
Method
If seasoning (optional) gently break hamburger meat apart, sprinkle seasoning on, then lightly fold into the meat, trying not to compress meat.
Divide hamburger into four equal portions. Squeeze each portion firmly into a ball, then flatten into a patty roughly 1/3” thick. Dent the middle of the burger with a thumb and finger to reduce the puffing up that will take place when cooking.
Heat skillet on medium high heat until hot, then place patties into skillet.
Cook 4 minutes on one side, then flip for another 4 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160 degree
Serve on buns with condiments and sides.
Variations:
Buy 1 1⁄2 pounds of ground chuck if you want larger burgers
